1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file stored by your browser. Similar technologies include browser local storage and session storage. This policy covers all of them and is part of our Privacy Policy.
2. Our approach
Speakr uses the smallest possible number of cookies, all strictly necessary to operate the site and the app. We do not load advertising tags, social media pixels, or third-party analytics trackers in your browser. Anonymous product metrics are collected server-side and contain no browser identifiers.
3. Cookies and storage we use
3.1 Strictly necessary (no consent required)
sb-access-token,sb-refresh-token— keep you signed in. Session / 30 days. First-party.speakr-consent-v1— remembers your consent choice so we don't ask again. 12 months. First-party.__cf_bm,cf_clearance— set by Cloudflare for bot protection and TLS. Up to 30 minutes / 30 days. Third-party (Cloudflare).- CSRF and security tokens — protect against cross-site request forgery on form submissions. Session. First-party.
3.2 Functional (local storage)
- Theme preference (light / dark).
- Last-used hotkey and microphone selection.
- Local dictionary cache so your custom words work offline.
3.3 Analytics
Anonymous server-side product metrics only (feature counts, latency, error rates). No browser tracker is loaded, no fingerprint is taken, no advertising ID is used.
3.4 Advertising / tracking
None. Speakr does not run advertising, retargeting, or cross-site tracking of any kind.
4. Voice and screen data are not cookies
For clarity: your microphone audio and screen captures are never written to cookies, local storage, IndexedDB, or any persistent storage. See the Privacy Policy §3–4.
5. Managing your choices
You can withdraw or change your consent at any time by clearing the speakr-consent-v1 entry from your browser storage, after which the consent prompt will appear again on your next visit. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings — note that strictly necessary cookies cannot be disabled without breaking sign-in.
6. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
We honour Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where supported. Because we don't run advertising or third-party tracking, GPC and DNT have no additional effect on what we collect.
7. Changes
If we ever add a new cookie category, we will update this page and request fresh consent before setting it.
