Terms & Conditions

Last updated 11 June 2026. These terms form a binding agreement between you and Speakr Ltd.

1. About us and these terms

Speakr Ltd ("Speakr", "we", "us") is a company registered in England and Wales, trading as SpeakrStream. These Terms govern your access to and use of the Speakr desktop applications, browser extensions, mobile keyboards, APIs, websites and any related services (together, the "Service"). By downloading, installing, creating an account or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 16 years old (or the digital age of consent in your jurisdiction) to use Speakr. You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for all activity under your account. If you use Speakr on behalf of an organisation, you warrant that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms, and "you" includes that organisation.

3. The Service

Speakr lets you dictate by voice and ask an AI to act on what is on your screen, directly inside the applications you already use. Speech recognition and screen analysis run locally on your device wherever possible. Some advanced answer-generation features may use cloud inference in UK/EU regions; see the Privacy Policy for details.

4. Your content and data

You retain all rights to the text Speakr produces from your dictation, to your screen contents, and to any notes or dictionary entries you create ("Your Content"). You grant Speakr a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to process Your Content solely to provide the Service to you. We do not use Your Content to train models. We do not sell or share Your Content with advertisers.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use Speakr to dictate or process unlawful, defamatory, harassing or infringing content;
  • Use screen-reading features to capture content you do not have the right to process (including another person's protected health, financial or personal data);
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or extract the local AI models distributed with the app, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by law;
  • Resell, sublicense, rent or expose the Service as a hosted API to third parties;
  • Circumvent security, rate limits, licensing or usage controls;
  • Use the Service to build a competing product or to benchmark it without our prior written consent;
  • Use the Service in a manner that violates export controls or sanctions law.

6. Voice and screen capture — your responsibility

You are responsible for ensuring you have the legal right to capture audio in your environment (e.g. obtaining consent where required) and to allow Speakr to process the contents of your screen. Where you use Speakr at work, your employer's IT and data protection policies apply in addition to these Terms.

7. Subscriptions, free trials and billing

  • Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle until cancelled.
  • You can cancel at any time from your account; access continues to the end of the current paid period.
  • Annual plans are non-refundable except where required by law (including UK / EU consumer rights for individuals — see §8).
  • Prices may change with at least 30 days' notice; changes take effect at your next renewal.
  • Taxes (including UK VAT) are added where applicable.
  • Free trials convert to paid subscriptions unless cancelled before the trial ends.

8. Consumer cancellation right (UK / EU)

If you are a consumer in the UK or EU, you have 14 days from purchase to cancel for any reason. By starting to use the Service within that period you agree we may begin performance immediately, and you accept that your right to cancel ends once the Service has been fully provided. Contact hello@speakrstream.com to exercise this right.

9. Beta and pre-release features

Features marked "Beta", "Preview" or similar are provided as-is, may change or be withdrawn, and are excluded from any service-level commitments.

10. Intellectual property

Speakr, the Speakr logo, the SpeakrStream name, the software, local AI models, model weights, documentation and website are owned by Speakr Ltd and protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. Except for the limited licence in §11, no rights are granted.

11. Licence to use the software

Subject to your compliance with these Terms and payment of applicable fees, Speakr grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the Speakr applications on devices you own or control, for your own use (or for the internal business use of the organisation that purchased the subscription).

12. Third-party services

The Service may interoperate with third-party applications (e.g. your email client, your browser). We are not responsible for those services or their terms.

13. Privacy and security

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data, including our zero-retention approach to voice and screen captures. For enterprise customers, a Data Processing Agreement is available on request from legal@speakrstream.com.

14. Warranties and disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, Speakr disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, accuracy and non-infringement. AI-generated output may be inaccurate; you are responsible for reviewing it before relying on it for any consequential decision (legal, medical, financial or otherwise).

15. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Speakr's total aggregate liability arising out of or related to the Service in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid us in that period or (b) GBP 100. Speakr is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunity. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

16. Indemnity (business users)

If you use Speakr for business purposes, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Speakr Ltd against claims arising from (a) your breach of these Terms, (b) Your Content, or (c) your unlawful use of screen-reading or dictation features.

17. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the security of the Service. You may terminate at any time by cancelling your subscription. On termination your licence ends; locally cached content on your device remains yours.

18. Changes to the Service or these Terms

We may update the Service and these Terms from time to time. For material changes we will give at least 30 days' notice by email or in-app. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

19. Governing law and disputes

These Terms and any dispute arising out of them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that consumers may bring proceedings in the courts of their country of residence as required by law.

20. Miscellaneous

If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in force. No waiver is effective unless in writing. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them to a successor in connection with a merger or acquisition. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any order form, constitute the entire agreement.
